Biografia

Doutorada (1991) e mestre (1987) em Biotecnologia pelo Institut National des Sciences Apliquées de Toulouse, França, e licenciada (1984) em Engenharia Química pela Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto. É Professora Associada da Escola Superior de Biotecnologia da Universidade Católica Portuguesa (ESB-UCP) e atualmente Vice-Reitora para Assuntos Académicos, Educação Global e Inovação Pedagógica da Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP). Anteriormente, foi Diretora da ESB-UCP (2009-2011 e 2013-2020), diretora da Licenciatura em Microbiologia (1997-1998) e coordenadora dos Estudos Pós-Graduados da ESB-UCP, tendo integrado a direção da ESB-UCP desde 1998 como diretora adjunta para a Divisão Académica.

Leciona disciplinas nas áreas dos bioprocessos e da microbiologia industrial. Os seus interesses de investigação focam-se na fisiologia microbiana e no desenvolvimento de processos biológicos. Coordenou e participou em vários projetos de investigação nacionais e europeus financiados externamente na área da biotecnologia industrial e orientou várias bolsas de investigação financiadas externamente, incluindo teses de doutoramento e de mestrado concluídas com sucesso.
