The Board of the School of Biotechnology includes a Dean, Paula Castro, and four Associate Deans: Paula Teixeira (Teaching), Manuela Pintado (Research), Cristina L.M. Silva (Internationalization) and Ana Gomes (Partnerships).

Each study cycle has a coordinator:

First-Cycle Coordinator - Paula Teixeira
Second-Cycle coordinator - Ana Gomes
Third-Cycle coordinator - Cristina L.M. Silva

In addition, each undergraduate, post-graduate, and master´s degree has a specific coordinator:

Undergraduate degree in Bioengineering - Paula Teixeira & Pedro Rodrigues (co-coordinator).

Other governing structures include the Scientific Council - headed by António Rangel - and the Pedagogical Council - headed by Alcina Bernardo.

The research center CBQF (Center for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry) has its own board composed of Manuela Pintado (director), Marta Vasconcelos (scientific strategy and internationalization), António Rangel (external relations and postgraduate training), Freni Tavaria (infrastructure and scientific platforms) and João Cortez (funding and career development).
