"The multidisciplinarity of the Environmental Engineering Course - markedly technological, but with space for the human sciences - provides new environmental engineers with the appropriate skills to work in various areas, and a versatility that is essential in the current job market."

"Choosing ESB for my degree was a decision that I never questioned. The course not only gave me the academic basis to confidently start a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, but also contributed significantly to my personal and professional development.

It was also very important [...] in the various industrial sectors in which I worked, from the food, chemical, and environmental industry to the field where I have worked for the last 15 years, of pharmaceutical research and development.

The engineering training at ESB was, without a doubt, a solid foundation and the first step in my professional path."

“For about three years, after entering university life, I was preparing for this moment, the moment I would leave my comfort zone and go on an adventure. Last year I counted the days until the applications started, hoping to be one of the lucky ones to enter the University of Twente, in the Netherlands, to do my internship and final report in the field of Biomedical Engineering. When I found out that I had got the spot, I started to contact with the University. On February 12th, I arrived at my host location, and I can tell you that it has been fantastic and I am loving it. I have events every day, my supervisors and colleagues are phenomenal and very approachable (they also organize dinners) and I'm learning a lot. It has been one of the best experiences of my academic life. However, I enjoy traveling and making new friends and acquaintances. Who knows, maybe we will have more international students at Queima das Fitas? Be adventurous and good luck!”
