I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology (2016), a Master’s degree in Applied Microbiology (2018), and a PhD in Biotechnology, with a specialization in Microbiology (2024), from the Faculty of Biotechnology of Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
During my Master’s degree, I participated in the Erasmus programme at the University of Reading, where I investigated the impact of insect-based flours on the human gut microbiome. This experience, combined with my academic training, provided me with scientific tools and skills to collaborate with professionals from different fields, allowing me to maintain an interdisciplinary, up-to-date, and adaptable approach to the challenges of scientific research and industry.
Between 2019 and 2023, I worked as a Laboratory Assistant in the Alchemy project, a partnership between Amyris Bio Products Portugal and Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Since 2023, I have been working as an Innovation Scientist at Biorbis, where I develop sustainable bioactive ingredients, focusing on animal and human health.
