The Escola Superior de Biotecnologia has committed itself to establish and develop partnerships with industry and other organizations at national and international levels, as a privileged way to strengthen the transfer of knowledge and technology and keep the interaction with the professional world. The result of this strategy can be clearly seen in multiple forms of collaboration between ESB and several companies, always mediated by our students from various academic levels (undergraduate, Master, doctoral). Below are some examples that evidence the excellent recognition of ESB graduates in the labour market.
Thesis in a professional context - Profiting from the wide range of national and international partnerships, Master's students are placed in companies or other organizations for one or two semesters, where they do their thesis work and have the opportunity to develop a wide range of technical and transversal skills that are always very enriching for their professional future.
Professional Mentoring Program - During the degree programme, each student can benefit from the guidance of a mentor, always an ESB alum, who offers a unique opportunity to reflect on his or her personal and entrepreneurial experience, guide academic progress, and optimize career prospects.
Curricular units that take place in association with enterprises are, for example, Project, which can be carried out as an internship, or DCPCP (Development of Professional Skills in a Business Context), which is based on the direct contact of students with different sectors within an organization, offering a closer view of what the labour market is like.
Non-Curricular Internships - All students are encouraged to do internships that prepare them beyond the curricular component, fostering essential transversal skills. These internships are promoted by the Student and Employability Office and are duly recognized through certification.
We are available to identify together the best way to work with you on this initiative. For this purpose, you can contact us through the email of Scientific Services - firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone +351 225580061.
