Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in Porto, has launched a new Academy of Arts and Biotechnology, aimed at Brazilian high school students. The initiative will take place from January 12 to 23, 2026, at the School of Arts and the Faculty of Biotechnology, and registration is open until November 2025.
Over the course of two weeks, participants will have the opportunity to engage in activities that combine creativity, science, and innovation, through hands-on workshops held in laboratories and art studios, alongside professors and students from each area. In addition to academic experiences, the program includes a cultural itinerary through the city of Porto — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — featuring visits to iconic landmarks and group challenges designed to foster teamwork and cooperation.
The program, taught in Portuguese, takes place in person on the Portuguese Catholic University’s campus and aims to introduce participants to Portuguese culture, while also helping them explore their interests and make more informed decisions about higher education. Throughout the academy, students will receive continuous support, both during the workshops and activities and at the accommodation, which is a 5-star hotel located nearby. A gala dinner is also planned, featuring the presentation of the students’ work and diploma ceremony, with the option for parents to attend by registering in advance.
