Post-doctoral researcher with a PhD degree on Environmental Microbiology (University of Wageningen), is presently working within the project 3Boost, which promotes the knowledge transfer from the academia to the industrial sector and is also teaching the course “Environmental Technology”. Has a solid background on environmental biotechnology, namely on aerobic and anaerobic biological processes applied to industrial and domestic waste and wastewater treatment, obtained during her collaboration in different national and international research projects. More recently, has performed research studies within the projects “PHYTOENERGY”, associated to the energetic valorisation of biomass resulting from phytoremediation of contaminated soils, and “MULTIBIOREFINERY”, based on the valorisation of agro‐forest and fisheries by‐products. Has papers published on aerobic and anaerobic biological processes applied in wastewater treatment and was responsible for supervising and training national and international students in laboratorial context.

Has an Environmental Engineering degree (University of Aveiro) and a Master´s degree on Environmental Management (University of Minho).
