The potential of microalgae-derived compounds: CBQF researcher presents her research at DOF 2025 in Chile

Marta Coelho, researcher at the Center for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF), participated in the 11th International Symposium on the Delivery of Functionality in Complex Food Systems (DOF 2025), held from November 5 to 7 in Santiago, Chile.

In her presentation titled “Extraction to Intestinal Uptake: Optimizing Phenolic and Carotenoid Bioaccessibility in Arthrospira platensis,” Marta Coelho shared insights into her ongoing research exploring how to enhance the nutritional and functional potential of microalgae-based compounds.

The DOF Symposium is an important international forum for discussing advances in food structure design and functionality, bringing together experts from academia and industry to address challenges in food innovation and health-promoting systems.
