Faculty of Biotechnology of Universidade Católica Portuguesa is hosting the twentieth edition of the Biotechnology Olympiad, an initiative that has already transformed the relationship of thousands of young people with science. The final will take place on 24 April at the Foz Campus of Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto.
The programme merges scientific accuracy with immersive experiences, both for final-year students and the teachers accompanying them.
The day includes a practical laboratory test, which assesses experimental and scientific analysis skills, and a written test comprising multiple-choice questions and an essay question, which tests theoretical knowledge.
There will also be a guided tour of the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia facilities, offering direct contact with research and higher education spaces, and three practical nutrition activities, each lasting 25 minutes, led by researchers from the school.
Faculty of Biotechnology, with over four decades of history and strongly anchored in its research center CBQF (Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry) sees this event as one of its most visible commitments linking higher education and the school community.
