Graduated in Biochemistry by the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade de Coimbra. Post-graduate in Food Safety and Master in Food Science and Technology by the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia da Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Teaches the practical component of the disciplines Food Microbiology, Biochemistry II, Organic Chemistry and Good Laboratory Practices (microbiology). Laboratory supervisor (Microbiology laboratory of CINATE at ESB) since 2013. Expertise in the evaluation of the microbiological safety and quality of food products and shelf-life studies in the microbiological aspects. Interested in the study of mitigation strategies for pathogenic microorganisms (Campylobacter, Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes) and spoilage microflora in food products and in antimicrobials associated with food packaging.
