Bio

Degree in Biochemistry - specialization in Food Industries from the Science Faculty of the University of Porto in 2005. PhD in Biotechnology - specialization in Biotechnology from the Portuguese Catholic University in 2016. In 2020 he completed the degree in Science Nutrition at the Portuguese Catholic University. His research interests focus on the characterization of foodborne pathogens using phenotypic and genotypic techniques to provide scientific knowledge and data to develop measures to control microbial hazards in foods. Since 2005, he has been responsible for the Cell Culture and Molecular Biology platforms at the Center for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry, including space management and maintenance activities. He has participated as a  team member of national and European projects in which ESB is a coordinating or partner entity.
