Sofia Teixeira Nunes is na Assistant Professor at Universidade Católica Portuguesa and researcher in Interdisciplinary Research Center in Health (CIIS), and she holds a Law degree.
She is actively involved in the supervision of theses and dissertations in the fields of bioethics, clinical ethics, nursing, and health governance.
Her scientific work focuses on ethical decision-making in healthcare, patient rights, clinical research governance, palliative care, and the ethical and legal challenges posed by digital health and emerging medical technologies. She is the author of peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters in bioethics, palliative care, and healthcare regulation, and frequently acts as an advisor on ethical issues in health and research contexts.
She is a Ethics Senior Investigator, with recognized expertise in patient rights, clinical research ethics, and regulatory compliance. As a legal and ethical specialist in clinical research governance, she is responsible for managing ethical and legal aspects of health research projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, safeguarding participants’ rights, and supporting the ethical integrity.
