Researchers and PhD students from the Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF) and the Faculty of Biotechnology at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa presented their research projects at the Microbiotec’25 congress, held at the University of the Azores

During the three-day event, CBQF participants presented posters and oral communications, showcasing ongoing work and research results in the fields of microbiology and biotechnology and promoting knowledge sharing and scientific debate on current innovations and challenges in these fields.

The Microbiotec congress, organised biennially since 2005 in partnership by the Portuguese Society of Microbiology and the Portuguese Society of Biotechnology, is a leading platform for discussion and collaboration between national and international researchers, industry and young scientists starting their academic careers.

Participation in Microbiotec, which took place between 4 and 6 December 2025, also made it possible to strengthen scientific cooperation ties, create networking opportunities and affirm the quality of the research carried out at CBQF/ESB to a diverse audience of academics and professionals in the sector.
