Maria Manuela Estevez Pintado, professor at the Faculty of Biotechnology at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, had her tenure process unanimously approved, after the Aggregation Tests in Biotechnology - Food Science and Engineering Specialty, held on July 27 and 28, 2023.
On the first day of the exams, the teacher's curriculum was analyzed, as well as the curricular unit of Functional Foods presented. On the second day, the teacher taught a class within the scope of the specialty in which the tests were given, which was the subject of analysis and discussion by the jury.
The tenure exams were chaired by the Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Prof. Doctor Isabel Capeloa Gil. The jury of the tests was composed of Profs. Doctors Maria da Conceição Calhau and António Rangel for curriculum appreciation and Prof. Dr. Armando Silvestre for consideration of the course report, with Profs. Doctors João Paulo Crespo and José António Teixeira. The jury also included Profs. Doctors Paula Castro and Emídio Gomes.
The tenure process aims to assess the candidate's competence and academic, scientific, professional and pedagogical contribution to the area in which he works, as well as his ability to lead and supervise projects. Thus, in addition to acquiring greater prestige and authority with this new title, the teacher is qualified to apply for the position of full professor.
The Faculty of Biotechnology thus congratulates Professor Manuela Pintado for her success in this aggregation process, recognizing her dedication and commitment to teaching at the institution.
