Graduated in Food Engineering (1991) and post-graduated in “Packaging for Food Products” (1998) by Escola Superior de Biotecnologia da Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Lecturer at the Biotechnology School (Practical component of Packaging courses). Laboratory supervisor (Packaging laboratory of CINATE) since 1998 for the testing of packaging materials and articles in contact with foodstuffs. Expertise in chemical hazards from packaging systems, safety evaluation of food contact materials and the applicable legislation. Also interested in physical and mechanical testing of packages and packaging materials for quality control and evaluation of their performance.
