Master’s in biomedical engineering and BSc in Bioengineering (major in Biomedical Engineering) from the Faculty of Biotechnology (ESB), Portuguese Catholic University. Beatriz Bernardes is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Biotechnology, where she lectures subjects on Transport Phenomena and Particle Mechanics.

Beatriz Bernardes started her professional career in the industry as a laboratory technician in a company focused on the development of isothermal systems. Currently, she is a Biotechnology Ph.D. candidate at ESB in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Santiago de Compostela and the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Porto. Her main research interest focuses on the development of innovative aerogel particle-based therapies for the treatment of chronic wounds.
