Over three years, the Portuguese project Alphamais developed new food products entirely based on carob, combining its economic potential with the promotion of a sustainable and resilient culture in the face of climate change. Through this project, a set of new ingredients and functional food preparations were created through biotechnology. Manuela Pintado, researcher at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, gave an interview to Porto Canal about this project.
