Paula Castro, full professor, has been reappointed by the Chancellor of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa as Director of the School of Biotechnology for the 2024-2027 triennium.
Commenting on her reappointment, Paula Castro said: ‘I would like to thank the President for this reappointment, particularly for her implicit trust. We are proud of what we are and I begin this mandate aware of the many challenges ahead. With the commitment of the team that takes office with me today and the help of all the members of the School of Biotechnology community, I believe it is possible to open new paths and lead the way in solutions.’ Paula Castro leads the School of Biotechnology since January 2021.
The Board of the School of Biotechnology includes: Paula Teixeira (Undergratuate Studies), Marta Vasconcelos (Postgraduate Studies), Manuela Pintado (Research) e Pedro Rodrigues (Lifelong Learning and Partnerships).
The swearing-in ceremony took place on the afternoon of 17 July 2024 at the Rectory of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. On the same day, the Director of the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences, Filipe Santos, full professor, and the Director of the Higher Institute of Canon Law, João Vergamota, assistant professor, took office.
