On November 29th, the diploma award ceremony for the Comendador Arménio Miranda Mentorship Program took place. This initiative aims to inspire and challenge students from the Master’s in Food Engineering at the Faculty of Biotechnology - Universidade Católica Portuguesa to transform innovative ideas into practical solutions for the agri-food sector.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Comendador Arménio Miranda himself, who reaffirmed his commitment to fostering innovation and young talent in the agri-food industry. During the event, participants had the opportunity to present the projects developed under the program, showcasing innovative solutions that combine creativity, sustainability, and the latest food trends.

This Mentorship Program challenges students to develop products or prototypes that address key priorities such as environmental regeneration and transformation, the consolidation of new food trends within the circular economy framework and fostering closer ties between universities and the agri-food industry. The projects presented demonstrated a high level of innovation and strong alignment with these priorities, serving as tangible examples of the impact of advanced training at the Faculty of Biotechnology.

The Faculty of Biotechnology congratulates all participants for their dedication and achievements in this edition of the Mentorship Program and extends its gratitude to Comendador Arménio Miranda for his unwavering support in nurturing young talent.
