On 25 November, UCP4SUCCESS launched the first webinar in the cycle ‘Uncomplicating the University: Strategies for a successful adaptation’, with the aim of facilitating students' adaptation to higher education and contributing to their academic success. The next sessions will take place on 2 and 4 December and 15 January.
Carolina Mano, a student at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, participated in the event and says: ‘this experience was undoubtedly a valuable opportunity to reflect on my own strategies and learn new approaches that I can apply in the future.’
In this webinar presented by Cátia Branquinho, Carolina was invited to share the difficulties she faced in her first year at university and the strategies she adopted to overcome them.
One of the facilitators of this session, Cristina Basílio, a psychologist at the Viseu campus, reinforces: ‘The UCP4SUCCESS programme webinars are fundamental to supporting students in their integration and success in higher education.’
‘They focus on developing essential skills in this process, such as strategies for managing time, organising studies and facing other academic challenges. They also promote collaboration between students and strengthen their support network,’ the professor adds.
This is also the perspective of Carolina Mano, who emphasises that UCP4SUCCESS ‘promotes a holistic approach to academic success, focusing on both the integration and success of students and the prevention of school abandonment.’
The second webinar, ‘Uncomplicating the University: Overcoming Stress and Taking Care of Well-being’, will take place on 2 December from 4pm to 5pm, and on 4 December from 4pm to 5pm, the webinar ‘In front of the mirror: Discover your potential’ will take place, the result of collaboration between UCP4SUCCESS and Proteus.
To conclude this cycle of webinars, on 8 January from 4pm to 5pm, UCP4SUCCESS is organising the webinar ‘Uncomplicating the University: From time management to academic success.’
