Between the 16th and 17th of November, the 3rd INSURE.hub International Conference on Innovation, Sustainability and Regeneration will take place. An event organized within the scope of INSURE.hub, an initiative of the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa - through the Faculty of Biotechnology and the Catolica Porto Business School - and Planetiers New Generation, which aims to develop joint activities for the promotion of knowledge, innovation and sustainable entrepreneurship. The article submission phase runs until July 17.
The purpose of the conference is to bring together students, researchers and industry professionals around a program that aims to be at the forefront of the international scene, providing sharing and discussion on topics related to innovation, sustainability and regeneration. Currently, there are more than 50 entities external to the UCP, both national and international, which have joined INSURE.hub.
This year's Conference features Manuela Veloso as keynote speaker, who is Director of Research in Artificial Intelligence at JPMorgan Chase, in New York, and Full Professor at Carnegie Mellon University. The program also has the contribution of many professionals and leaders who have been directly involved in disruptive, circular, sustainable and/or regenerative innovation processes applied in practice.
Contribution with proposed articles until July 17
The first day of the Conference is dedicated to Academia – Academic Branch – calling for original, high-quality research or case studies on topics including (but not limited to):
- Innovation and business transformation;
- Disruptive innovation;
- Circular economy;
- Leadership and governance for sustainability;
- Sustainable business strategy;
- Social entrepreneurship and responsible companies;
- Literacy and education for sustainability;
- Sustainable investment and financing;
- Challenges arising from the impact of climate change;
- Climate risk management;
- Laws and regulations related to sustainability.
The best presentation will be awarded a prize of €1,000.00, based on scientific quality, innovation and performance.
Around the presentation of the articles and the discussion of the different case studies, it is intended to share knowledge and challenge innovation and change.
An international transdisciplinary knowledge ecosystem
INSURE.hub, an initiative that aims to create an international ecosystem of transdisciplinary knowledge that promotes business solutions with a circular, sustainable and regenerative scope, powered by disruptive technologies, results from the mobilization of the Universidade Catolica in Porto, through Faculties such as Católica Porto Business School and Faculty of Biotechnology - and Planetiers New Generation. The initiative integrates a set of activities that aim to pursue the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the European Green Deal Strategy and the goals defined for Europe 2030, contributing to bring Portugal to the forefront of progressive countries within the EU.
