The Open Week is an initiative of the Faculty of Biotechnology that has been held since 2006 and is repeated every year in the spring. In 2023 it will take place on the 19th, 20th and 21st of April and is available free of charge to all interested schools.
This set of activities allows secondary school students to come into close contact with different aspects of science presented through demonstrations and fun experiments planned by our researchers and teachers. This is also a unique opportunity to visit research laboratories and learn about ongoing projects. The works cover the following areas of knowledge:
- Microbiology & Genetics
- Chemistry in Life and Environmental Sciences
- Bioengineering: Technology, Environment and Health
- Food, nutrition and wellness
Visits can be by school (in which case the institutions that intend to participate must ensure that their students' school insurance covers this visit) or on an individual or family basis.
