2 October (new date)
Due to the fires that occurred during the week of 17 September, it was not possible to hold this initiative, so it has been postponed to 2 October.
The Faculty of Biotechnology will open its doors for the second edition of the International Microorganism Day. This event is dedicated to the importance of microbes in our lives, with a day full of scientific experiences. Researchers will demonstrate and explain the role of various microorganisms in the environment (water and soil), in food (food production and safety), and in health (gut and skin microbiome), among other topics.
We emphasize the importance of these activities in the growth and learning of students. In previous editions, participants described the experience as "fun," "joyful," "I learned a lot, in a different way," "enriching," and "it helped us make a future decision."
Given the success of the 2023 and 2022 editions, which had over 500 participants, we will once again welcome classes from the 5th to 9th grades in the morning (10 am to 12:30 pm) and high school students in the afternoon (2:30 pm to 5 pm). The visit includes eight activities and a few minutes of free circulation, totaling 2.5 hours. At the end, the most attentive participants can win prizes in the final contest!
