Objectives and competences
KNOWLEDGE: Acquisition of basic knowledge concerning the microscopic structure, chemical composition and function of tissues and tissue systems
UNDERSTANDING: Thinking skills that allow students to understand the way tissues work, its structure and relation to the function of organs
APPLICATION: Use the basic knowledge acquired in order to think and explain day-to-day natural phenomena
ANALYSIS: Integrating different knowledge and relate the different levels of organization of human tissues
SUMMARY: Development of synthesis skills
EVALUATE: Distinguish the different structures, levels of organization and the different operating modes of the various tissues and tissue systems
Results expected:
Understanding the microanatomy of cells, tissues and organs and the correlation between structure and function.
Teaching Methodologies
Theoretical classes: presentation, interpretation and correlation of the different subjects. Observation and interpretation of photographs of optical and electronic microscopy of different cell and tissue structures. Realization of a monograph on the relationship between embryonic development and nutrition.
