Bio & Tec is the challenge put forward to everyone interested in the degree programmes offered by the Faculty of Biotechnology who would like to be a "scientist for a day" during the summer months (July or August).

We offer (yes, it really is free of charge) a day of "shadowing", where you'll be the "shadow" of a researcher working in a particular area of biotechnology. This is a way of gaining experience in a laboratory environment, very similar to what you would find on one of our undergraduate or master's degree programmes.

Those interested should contact biotecnologia@ucp.pt from 1 May onwards, stating their preferred day. The days available each year can be found in this file. These activities are covered by insurance, arranged by the faculty.
