A delegation of the Biotechnology Faculty (ESB) traveled to Monastir for the final meetings of the Biotech Tunisia project, an international initiative under the Erasmus+ Program aimed at modernizing biotechnology education in Tunisia. The meetings took place from July 12 to 14, 2024 and addressed topics such as training and pedagogical approaches, innovation and governance.
The Biotech Tunisia consortium included four Tunisian universities (Monastir, Sfax, Jendouba, and Manouba), the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, three European universities (Tampere University of Applied Sciences, University of Torino and ESB) as well as other several associate partners.
Professor Cristina L.M. Silva, who coordinated the ESB contribution to the Biotech Tunisia project, participated in the final meetings with a presentation titled "Accreditation and Recognition of Degrees in the Field of Biotechnology: Procedures and Requirements" in the 'Training' panel. Professor Ana M. Gomes also presented in the 'Research, Development & Innovation' panel with a talk titled "Innovation in Biotechnology for the Health and Well-Being of the Citizen and the Competitiveness of Sustainable Agri-Food Systems – The Strategy of CBQF".
