On November 2, 2022, in Singapore, Prof. Cristina L.M. Silva received the nomination for Fellow of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IAFoST). The ceremony took place during the IUFoST International Congress - International Union of Food Science and Technology, where Cristina Silva coordinated the organization of the two sessions on food science and engineering education:
- Lessons for the Future: A Post-pandemic New Context for Food Studies Teaching Methods
- Emerging Issues on Education and Key Focus Areas
Prof. Cristina Silva is coordinator of the IUFoST working group WG1.2 on Emerging Issues, Key Focus Areas.
IAFoST is supported by IUFoST, which brings together National Associations from 65 country members and represents more than 200,000 professionals worldwide. The International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IAFoST) is an internationally recognised group of elected distinguished food scientists and technologists who collectively form a pool of scientific expertise in food science and technology from which IUFoST may draw non-aligned expert advice on scientific matters. The ESB is the IUFoST Adhering Body for Portugal.
