Bio
Catarina Amorim holds a PhD in Biotechnology with a specialization in Environmental Science and Engineering from Universidade Católica Portuguesa and a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Porto. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Biotechnology, teaching courses in the environmental microbiology area. She is currently a researcher at the Center for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry from Universidade Catolica Portuguesa. Her research interests focused on the environmental biotechnology area, with a special focus on technologies for the treatment and valorization of wastewater and on bioremediation processes. Within the scope of these themes, she has participated in several R&D+I projects (with national and international companies and scientific institutions).
