Imagiology

5 ECTS / Semi-annual / English

Objectives and competences

Pedagogical Objectives:

  1. Train students in theoretical, practical, and professional experience aspects in imaging (with special attention to its medical and scientific use), including biological effects of radiation and protection methodologies.
  2. Provide detailed information on fundamental aspects of the application of various signals in clinical and scientific imaging.
  3. Increase the interest of the student on new techniques, present and future, through introductory and rational training on new methodologies under scientific and clinical development.

Expected Results:
Basic knowledge on IMAGES as representations of objects (either morphological or functional), as well as pragmatic notion about possible errors and solution methodologies for the acquisition, processing, and data analysis.
Critical perception of the potential for future professional specialization in the areas of IMAGIOLOGY, either medical/clinical or scientific.

Teaching Methodologies

Classes and theoretical practices with students’ permanent involvement.
Study visits to service providers directly related to Medical Imaging.
