The new ambassador of The Netherlands in Lisbon, Margriet Leemhuis, has visited the Universidade Católica in Porto, for a meeting with Isabel Braga Cruz, president of Católica in Porto, Paula Castro, director of the Faculty of Biotechnology (ESB), and Manuela Pintado, director of Centre of Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF).
This visit is part of the Ambassador’s first travel to the north of Portugal and happened on the September 7th morning. The main goal was to identify areas for bilateral cooperation, as well as to provide information regarding ongoing initiatives, as it is the case of the partnership between ESB and the University of Wageningen.
Isabel Braga Cruz highlights the importance of spreading the Universidade Católica´s mission: “we want to build bridges that contribute for the production of knowledge and its consequent impact on society”.
Paula Castro states that it is with great will and enthusiasm that “we always open ESB and CBQF doors to welcome new visitors”, since “we are an university truly opened to the world”. The director of CBQF, Manuela Pintado, mentions that “the research field benefits and is enriched every time we are open to new opportunities for sharing and working together”.
