The Center for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF) celebrated another CBQF Day with the theme "How Green is Our Future?", held at the Faculty of Biotechnology, Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Porto. The event brought together researchers, experts, and guests to discuss and explore crucial topics related to sustainability and innovation.
The morning opening session, led by Manuela Pintado, director of CBQF, kicked off a day full of knowledge and exchange of ideas. "This is a moment to celebrate the excellent research we do," highlighted Manuela Pintado. "In the last 5 years, we have developed 170 projects in collaboration with public and private entities, secured 30 million euros in competitive funding, and published about 1000 articles in peer-reviewed international journals."
The latest research in the sustainability field at CBQF was presented by the center's researchers, capturing the audience's interest and stimulating discussion of the results.
The "Creative Jam" fostered a dynamic and collaborative environment among participants, culminating in the plenary session. The afternoon opening session was also led by Manuela Pintado, setting the stage for guest lectures moderated by António Rangel, as well as for the roundtable discussion led by Marta Vasconcelos.
The event concluded with the closing speech by Isabel Braga da Cruz, Vice-Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Porto, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and continued commitment to sustainability.
CBQF Day was a success, highlighting the growth and relevance of the center, which counts with over 255 researchers dedicated to distinct areas such as Environment and Resources, Food and Nutrition, Biological and Biomedical Products, and Biotechnological Innovation and Technology Transfer.
