General Genetics

6 ECTS / Semester / Português

Objectives and competences

It is expected that the students expand and consolidate their knowledge on genetics. Students are oriented towards an improved insight of the importance of genetics to understand biological diversity, the complexity of relationship genotype-phenotype.  In a first contact with genetics laboratory, students practice some basic procedures as DNA extraction, polymerase chain reaction and electrophoresis on agarose gel.

Teaching Methodologies

Lectures, exercises, seminars, laboratory work.
