Dr. Luis Rojo is a MICINN fellow working at the Spanish Institute of Polymer Science and Technology (ICTP-CSIC) and also Associate Researcher of the Spanish NHS Institute Carlos III CIBER–BBN. His research is focused on the synthesis and characterisation of advanced biomaterials and their evaluation for biomedical applications. Thus, his motivation is to generate basic knowledge and develop new technology that satisfy real clinical demands throughout the design and synthesis of innovative functional materials aimed to restore and drive the functionality of tissues, organs and biological processes.

 

He has participated in 20 competitive projects including 3 as principal investigators funded by EU (309K€), Spanish MINECO (169K€) and a private dental company (30K€). His activities have led into 38 scientific publications including 29 as main author in Q1 and 5 book contributions. During his career, he has contributed to the productive sector developing 3 patents and 6 licensed products currently available in the dental market.
