Ana Leite Oliveira

Invited Assistant Professor

Ana Leite Oliveira graduated from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. In 2002 he obtained a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Minho in collaboration with the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC, Madrid) in the area of ​​Biomaterials. In 2008 he finished his doctorate at the University of Minho in collaboration with the company Depuy, Inc. (Johnson & Johnson, USA) and started his postdoctoral project with an invitation to collaborate with Tufts University, Boston, USA.

She is currently the coordinator of the Laboratory of Biomaterials and Biomedical Technology, at the Center for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF, Porto) where she develops research in the area of ​​biomaterials of natural origin for application in the treatment of wounds and in situ tissue regeneration. He is also conductor of the Biomaterials disciplines taught to the Degree in Bioengineering and to the Master in Biomedical Engineering at the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia. The innovation in her work generated 4 patents, more than 60 publications (articles in international magazines and book chapters) and over 100 communications at international conferences, mostly oral presentations and invited lectures. She is involved in the preparation and coordination of several national and international projects, as well as projects with the industry, working with companies to achieve new products/processes. She is a referee in several international journals. Since 2008, she has been working at the European Commission as an “Expert Evaluator” and “Innovation Monitor” of proposals and ongoing projects (7th Framework Program; Horizon 2020).
