Marta Nunes da Silva is a Biologist with a Master's Degree in Environmental Toxicology and PhD in Agronomical Sciences (University of Porto). Her research interests comprise agroecological sustainability, including plant protection, plant nutrition, and environmental restoration.
She has participated in 17 R&D Projects (national and European) and published 21 articles in specialised peer-reviewed journals, 1 book chapter and 2 magazine articles. Marta has been involved in Teaching activities as invited lecturer in 3 national universities (Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Universidade do Porto e Universidade do Minho) and 1 international (University of Saint Joseph, Macau). She was also in the supervision team of 20 MSc and BSc students.
Since 2021 she contributes as Guest editor in: Crops and Sustainability; Review Editor in: Frontiers in Plant Science - Plant Nutrition; and Reviewer in the journals: Food Chemistry, Minerals, Frontiers in Nutrition, Antioxidants, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Sustainability, Agriculture, Plants and Protoplasma.
So far, Marta received 6 awards from international organisations, including 2 Young Mind Awards from the International Society of Horticultural Sciences, 1 Best PhD Thesis Award from the publisher MDPI, and 1st place in the international competition Three Minute Thesis (3MT), sponsored by the International Society for Horticultural Sciences.
