Manuela Pintado (Universidade Católica Portuguesa), leader of the Bioactives and Bioproducts Research Group, was invited by the organizers of the 1st Food Digestion Latin America, held in São Paulo, to deliver a plenary lecture on “Bioaccessibility and absorption of bioactive compounds and the development of food products.”
The presence of Manuela Pintado represents not only international recognition of the work carried out in this field by her Bioactives and Bioproducts Research Group (BBR), but also marks a milestone in the expansion of the InfoGest network to Latin America, strengthening scientific cooperation between continents.
During this trip, she was also invited by the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) to give a lecture on “The Future of the Food Industry: Alternative Proteins and Innovations,” as part of the institution’s Postgraduate Program in Food Technology. This opportunity reinforced the role of the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia (UCP) in sharing scientific knowledge related to food, health, and sustainability, while also contributing to strengthening academic ties with Latin America.
