NeuroSDR, a project led by Professor Pedro M. Rodrigues, faculty member at the School of Biotechnology of Universidade Católica Portuguesa and researcher at the Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF), has been selected to join TechLaunch 2026 – From Invention to Impact!, one of the most prestigious international entrepreneurship programmes promoted by the UT Austin Portugal Program.
The recognition goes beyond the project's selection. NeuroSDR has also secured funding to support its further development and certification, marking another important step towards commercialisation.
NeuroSDR uses artificial intelligence to diagnose and predict Alzheimer's disease several years before the onset of the first symptoms through the advanced analysis of medical data.
This early detection capability represents a significant contribution to neuroscience research and public health by enabling earlier intervention and improving disease management.
As part of its participation in TechLaunch 2026, the NeuroSDR team will have the opportunity to present the project to international investors during the programme's closing week, which will take place in Austin, Texas, USA, in November.
This achievement further strengthens the role of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, through its School of Biotechnology and the CBQF, in producing cutting-edge research with real-world applications in healthcare. It also opens new opportunities for the internationalisation of a project with significant potential for social impact.
Congratulations to the NeuroSDR team on this outstanding achievement!
